Anthea is a Transformational Creative Consultant, based in Bedford, Bedfordshire. She has the ability, through spoken word, to illuminate the ordinary and transform it into something extraordinary. She uses poetry and prose to engage with social issues and the human experience in a unique and inspiring way.
Born in London, Anthea is deeply connected to her British and Caribbean heritage. A former teacher and academic, she has a Bachelors in English Literature and History and a Masters in Commonwealth and Imperial History.
Anthea’s strong sense of social justice is informed through her experiences as a black woman, mother, and social advocate. Her knowledge and personal experience around mental health and wellbeing has provided her with many opportunities to creatively work in diverse settings.

“Who knew poetry writing for events was a thing! A rare talent when I think about what Anthea did for our EY UK Technology Consulting All Hands Day.
Our Events team had the pleasure of working with Anthea after being recommended to use her by one of our colleagues, to create a poem that represented our Service Line.
Anthea interviewed a variety of EY colleagues across different levels, and clearly did some research on our company which she skilfully then interpreted into a relevant and inspiring poem about Technology Consulting. I was particularly impressed with the way Anthea conducted her interviews to gain the insight she needed to help not only build her poem but also the physical and personal way it was delivered.
She created a fantastic video to go with the poem, and brought a smile to our faces by featuring one of our colleagues in the video!
